Jasmine Jordan, the daughter of Michael Jordan, got people talking this week after posting a photo on her Instagram page of herself embracing a woman named Carmen. Carmen is a former basketball player at Syracuse.
After the photo spread, gossip sites began speculating about Jasmine’s personal life. Media Take Out was among the first to raise questions, and some outlets described the post as a coming out announcement. Jasmine did not use those words herself.
She later returned to Instagram to address the attention. In her message, she said she would not discuss her sexual preference until the things she wants in a relationship, such as love, trust, honesty, respect and loyalty, are defined by one gender and one gender only. In other words, she wasn’t putting a label on anything.
Baller Alert has not seen any further comment from Jasmine or the Jordan family about the photo. For now, she is letting her own words speak for her, and we wish her nothing but happiness.
