Legendary “Halloween” villain Michael Myers has been called many things over the years but never homophobic… until now.
In “Halloween Kills,” which is the latest installment of the “Halloween” franchise, Myers aims for a male gay couple in one of the scenes. This apparently did not sit well with some viewers, who slammed the film for including the graphic murder of LGBTQ community members.
Gaymer, an LGBTQ publication, doubted claims of discrimination in an op-ed, claiming that the way Myers “handles the death of the gay couple in the latest film feels no different to how he butchers Bob, Annie, and Lynda in the original Halloween.”
While several users called out the film, many Twitter users questioned why anyone would be outraged at Michael Myers being an “equal opportunity” killer.
“Halloween Kills” finds Myers reemerging after Laurie Strode, her daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson burned the serial killer in Laurie’s basement in the last “Halloween” film. Now, Myers is back for revenge and taking down anyone in his path.

This is baffling. Im really REALLY trying to figure out how a fictional character that’s a MURDERER is homophobic! He’s been killing since 1978 and I don’t think that’s going to change. HE HAS BEEN TRYING TO KILL HIS SISTER SINCE 1978, but that’s ok! Like what is really going on here people. So was he just supposed to not kill them because they’re gay? It’s called ENTERTAINMENT! It wouldn’t be Mike Myers if he didn’t murder everyone. I’m really confused! I thought that’s what killers do…KILL!!! It’s a horror film not a damn 20/20 special about a mass murderer or serial killer only going after gay men. Get over yourselves for real.
