The Tuohy Family Claims Michael Oher Tried To Extort Them For $15 Million In Royalties From "The Blind Side" Film

Ex-NFL player Michael Oher is disputing his adoptive parents’ reported earnings from “The Blind Side” movie.

In court documents obtained by the Blast, Oher stated that the accounting documents from Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy were “contradictory, confusing, false in material ways, and wholly inadequate to account for the assets of [his] estate.”

Oher is urging the court to strike two filings and is demanding the Tuohys provide a “complete and honest accounting” as inconsistencies arise regarding earnings from the 2009 movie.

Initially, Oher’s team noted that the Tuohys claimed to have received “nothing” from The Blind Side. However, Sean Tuohy Jr. later stated they shared “1/5 of the proceeds of The Blind Side royalty rights” with Oher.

The Tuohys then reportedly revised their stance again, claiming they only shared 1/3 of the film’s proceeds with Oher.

“These inconsistencies demonstrate the inaccuracies on the face of the ‘Accounting,'” the court documents argued.

However, the Tuohys maintain they paid the former baller $138,000 from earnings related to The Blind Side, covering both the film and the book it was based on. Yet, Oher claims he never received his “fair share” of the profits.

Elsewhere, Oher accuses his adoptive family of selling off his NIL rights to Twentieth Century Fox “without consulting attorneys’ expertise in the area of entertainment law or NCAA Standards.”

Both parties are set to appear in a Tennessee court on Wednesday to resolve the financial dispute.
