Comedian and actress Simone Shepherd is accusing Mike Epps of punching her in the face at an afterparty for A Haunted House 2 in Los Angeles, according to TMZ. Epps denies the claim.
What Shepherd Says
According to TMZ, the incident happened Wednesday night at the afterparty held at Lucky Strike in downtown Los Angeles. Shepherd says she and Epps had a romantic history from the time she worked as a ghostwriter for him. She says she went to the party hoping to confront him, and that Epps was there with his wife. A heated argument reportedly broke out between Shepherd and Epps’ wife. Shepherd claims that when Epps stepped in to separate the two women, he punched her in the face.
What Epps Says
Epps tells a very different story. According to the report, he says he never touched Shepherd and describes her as an overzealous fan who became rude after he asked for privacy. He says she threw a drink at him and his wife, and that he asked security to escort her out.
What Police Found
Shepherd called police and filed a report. Officers who responded reportedly did not see any visible sign of injury on her face. Shepherd says her jaw swelled up later, after she got home, and she has shared photos of it. Because of the past relationship she described, the case was reportedly referred to the domestic violence division, and the investigation was still open at the time of the report. No charges had been announced.
Baller Alert will keep you posted if either side says more. For now it is one person’s word against the other’s, so we are not drawing any conclusions.
