The FBI has added a 24 year old Milwaukee woman named Shanika to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, according to the FBI’s Milwaukee division. She is accused of shooting a pregnant neighbor and the woman’s unborn baby.
According to reports, the trouble began when Shanika confronted her mother’s nine months pregnant neighbor over a loud music complaint. Authorities say that a week later she showed up with a gun, offered to fight the neighbor, fired several shots into the air and left at her mother’s request.
According to USA Today, she returned hours later and went into the neighbor’s home armed. Her mother reportedly stepped between the two women, but investigators say Shanika reached over her mother’s shoulder and fired at the neighbor. The neighbor, 23 year old Tamecca, and her unborn baby died at the scene. Shanika has not been seen since.
Reports say Shanika is the seventh Wisconsin fugitive to appear on the FBI list since it began in 1950 and the first from Milwaukee. Police believe she has contacts in Missouri, Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, Illinois and possibly Georgia, and say she has not traveled outside the U.S. or contacted anyone abroad.
Authorities are offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to her arrest. She is accused but has not been convicted of any crime.
