Miss Jessie’s co-founder Titi Branch died in December at age 45. Now her sister and business partner, Miko Branch, is making serious allegations about the final years of Titi’s life. According to the NY Post, which reviewed court documents filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Miko claims Titi’s boyfriend, Anthony, had undue influence over her.
The filing alleges that Anthony treated Titi like a “human ATM” and took hundreds of thousands of dollars from her to start a beard care business. Miko also alleges that Titi provided $420,000 toward a house in Pennsylvania and a $135,000 interest free loan, and that Titi changed the beneficiary on her $2 million life insurance policies from Miko to Anthony. Miko told the NY Post, “It was only after Titi’s death that we learned more about what she’d been going through and how her affairs were being managed.”
Miko further claims that Titi was struggling with her mental health, and that days after Titi’s death, Anthony emailed Titi’s parents saying a new will gave him half of her estate. These are allegations made in court papers. They have not been proven.
Anthony tells a very different story. According to the NY Post, he says the sisters had a falling out in 2013, and that this is why Titi changed her beneficiary and her will. He disputes Miko’s version of events.
