A month after she was reported missing, the body of 22 year old Takeria Adderly was found by K9 units who were training in a heavily wooded area, according to PEOPLE.
Lakeland police confirmed late Thursday that the remains were Takeria’s. She was reported missing June 30, and an autopsy ruled her death a homicide. The manner of death and a possible motive have not been released.
Investigators found her abandoned vehicle July 7 in Lakeland. Police said evidence from the vehicle led them to a person of interest, 21 year old Cristian, who was located July 10 and interviewed. In a statement, police said the investigation “developed enough probable cause to arrest” him for grand theft and burglary of the vehicle, tampering with evidence and a probation violation.
Police said Cristian has not been charged in Takeria’s death but “remains a primary person of interest.” He has not yet entered pleas and is being held without bond.
