A North Carolina mother was removed from a Frontier Airlines flight and arrested after a dispute with a flight attendant over vomit on her teenage daughter’s seat, according to WTVD and ABC7.
Rosetta told WTVD that she and her daughter were flying from Las Vegas to Raleigh Durham when her daughter sat down and felt the seat was wet. Rosetta says they found vomit on the seat and on her daughter’s clothing, and that they told a flight attendant right away. She says the attendant did not clean the area or move them to other seats.
Frontier tells a different story. In a statement, the airline said its flight attendants apologized and invited the mother and daughter to move to either end of the plane while a cleaning crew handled the seat, and that other seats would be offered after boarding if any were available. Frontier also said the daughter was offered cleaning products and use of the lavatory. The airline said the mother was unsatisfied and became disruptive, that the crew decided the two should leave the flight and be placed on another one, and that law enforcement was called when she refused to deplane.
Rosetta was reportedly jailed for about 12 hours and charged with misdemeanor trespassing, per the ABC7 report. She told WTVD she felt humiliated that her daughter watched her be handcuffed and taken away. ABC7 reports Frontier refunded her fare, that she bought a ticket on another airline to get home, and that she hired an attorney to fight the charge.
Passengers who witnessed the scene shared their accounts on Facebook. One said there were empty seats nearby where the pair could have been moved. Those are the accounts of individual passengers, and Baller Alert has not independently verified them.
