A Knox County, Tennessee mother has been charged after her 11 month old son died following an incident in the family’s bathtub, according to authorities.

Lindsee, 32, was arrested and charged with murder, aggravated child abuse, neglect and endangerment, according to an arrest warrant. Law enforcement and EMTs were called to her home on Wednesday evening, where they found the baby unresponsive. The charges are allegations, and she has not been convicted of anything.

According to the warrant, Lindsee told investigators that she left the baby and his 23 month old sibling in a tub with four to six inches of water and went outside to smoke a cigarette. The warrant states she was outside for about 10 minutes. It says she told officers that when she returned, the toddler had turned the water on and the tub was filled to the top.

The warrant states she found the baby floating on his back and not breathing, with the toddler standing in the tub. She called 911 and performed CPR while following the dispatcher’s instructions.

The baby was taken by ambulance to Tennova Turkey Creek Medical Center, where, according to the warrant, his heartbeat was recovered. He was then moved to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, where he later died.

Lindsee remains in jail after being unable to post a $350,000 bond.
