Voletta Wallace, the mother of Notorious B.I.G., says that she still holds onto hope that justice will be served for her son.

Wallace spoke with Entertainment Weekly to promote the new Netflix documentary, “Biggie: I Have a Story to Tell.” During the interview, she said that she would never stop her quest to solve the mystery of the rapper’s murder, despite 24 years passing without any suspects being brought into custody.

“As long as I have life there’s hope. I’ll never give up. And I hope when I’m not in this world anymore, my friends and family will carry on the fight. There is always hope.”

Notorious B.I.G., whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was gunned down on March 9th, 1997, in Los Angeles, California. Despite intensive investigations and several documentaries, authorities have never arrested anyone for the murder.

The latest documentary, which has become a favorite on Netflix, shows Biggie in never-before-seen video footage provided by Wallace and friends. Though she was never a fan of rap music, Wallace heavily supported his career. After his passing, she delved into his music catalog, which brought her closer to her son.

Notorious B.I.G was only 24-years-old at the time of his death. Biggie left behind his mother, as well as his then-wife, Faith Evans, and two children, C.J. and T’yanna. While his death has long been linked to former friend and rival Tupac Shakur’s death, both cases have gone cold.
