Throughout the years, Jay-Z has become known for his passion for luxurious timepieces, often being spotted wearing high-end watches like Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Hublot. Over the course of his extensive career, Hov has curated an eye-catching collection of watches that complement his status as a heavyweight in the music industry. Recently, Jay-Z made headlines as the first person to own the newly-released Bugatti Tourbillon watch.
Created by Jacob & Co., the Bugatti Tourbillon debuted in late June and is inspired by the Bugatti hypercar. To honor the intricate relationship between high-performance vehicles and luxury watches, the timepiece mimics elements of the high-performing automobile. The 52 mm black titanium case resembles the Tourbillon’s exterior, with sapphire openings on the sides, similar to the car’s windows. The watch carries a price tag of $340,000, composed of 557 components and offering a 48-hour power reserve.
However, this isn’t the first time Hov has treated us to impressive arm candy. In 2012, Beyoncé reportedly gifted her husband a $5 million Hublot Big Bang for his 43rd birthday. The 18-karat white-gold timepiece is encrusted with 1,282 diamonds and reportedly required over 14 months of labor. The following year, Jay-Z collaborated with Hublot again to design the “Shawn Carter Hublot Classic Fusion” watch.
Beyond his connection with Hublot, Jay-Z’s relationship with Richard Mille (RM) is just as noteworthy. Hov’s custom “Blue Print” Richard Mille 56, reportedly estimated at $2.5 million, took over 3,000 hours to assemble. Later, he acquired another exclusive Richard Mille 56 in green, priced at $3 million.
His RM collection also includes the RM011 Felipe Massa Chronograph, designed as part of F1 driver Felipe Massa’s collection. The RM011 was released in 2007 and is no longer in production, but can be found on the second-hand market for $215,000.
Additionally, Jay-Z owns the Richard Mille RM027 Rafael Nadal, which he debuted while watching Nadal compete against Novak Djokovic at the 2011 US Open. This lightweight watch was designed to meet the challenging demands of tennis players. Like the RM011, the RM027 was limited to just 50 pieces and is now valued at $1.38 million on the second-hand market.
Another standout piece in Hov’s watch collection is the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 in Tiffany Blue, which he acquired in 2021. The watch was a collaboration between Tiffany & Co. and Patek Philippe, initially retailing for $52,635. To add to its rarity, only 170 pieces were made, with one being auctioned for $6.5 million shortly after the collection sold out.
