Sidney Starr’s legal troubles are deepening as newly released police documents reveal what officers claim they discovered during her arrest at a Georgia hotel.
According to a Hapeville Police Department report obtained by TMZ, an “opened condom” allegedly fell from the reality personality’s clothing while officers conducted a pat-down. Police said another condom was also found inside her pocket.
The “Love & Hip Hop: New York” alum, whose legal name is Sidney Favors, was arrested Sunday, August 2, at an Embassy Suites in Hapeville, Georgia. She is facing charges of sexual battery against a child under 16, aggravated child molestation and sodomy.
The incident reportedly began after a hotel employee contacted authorities to report that another guest had allegedly sexually assaulted a juvenile. Officers said they met with the boy and his parents at the hotel before speaking with Starr.
According to the report, the minor told police that an encounter had taken place between him and Starr, who is transgender.
Starr reportedly gave officers her version of what happened, claiming a tall, slender Black male approached her in the hotel lobby and told her she was “cute.”
She said the pair had a brief conversation and claimed she directly asked the male his age. Starr allegedly told police that he said he was 18 years old.
The reality personality said she eventually left the lobby and the boy followed her back to her hotel room. Officers later detained Starr and searched her, which is when the contraceptives were allegedly discovered.
Police have accused Starr of performing oral sex on the boy, who authorities say was under 16. Atlanta News First previously reported that an arrest warrant alleged Starr confessed to the act and claimed the sexual encounter was consensual.
However, Starr has publicly maintained her innocence since being taken into custody.
In a statement issued after her arrest, Starr said she “unequivocally denies the allegations against her and intends to vigorously defend herself through the legal process.”
Her statement continued, “Allegations should not be mistaken for fact, and public opinion should never replace due process.”
Starr also urged the public not to use the allegations against her as a reason to attack or stigmatize the transgender community. She stressed that the alleged actions of one individual should never be used to judge an entire group.
The influencer thanked those who have supported her and requested privacy while the criminal case moves forward. She also said the statement would be her only public comment while the matter remains pending.
Her mother, Stephanie Favors, previously defended her daughter, telling TMZ that the allegations were completely out of character. She said she does not believe Starr would knowingly engage in sexual activity with a minor.
The newly released report may now become a key part of the prosecution’s case, particularly Starr’s alleged statement that the boy told her he was 18 and the officers’ claim that condoms were found during the arrest. Still, the exact circumstances surrounding the encounter will have to be tested through the court process.
Starr remains in custody at the Fulton County Jail while the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office handles the case. Court records show she continues to face sexual battery against a child under 16, aggravated child molestation and sodomy charges.
Despite the police account and the alleged confession described in the arrest warrant, Starr has not been convicted of any crime. She is expected to challenge the allegations as the case moves through the legal system.
