Naomi Campbell isn’t letting her name be dragged through the mud after newly unsealed documents brought her connection to Jeffrey Epstein back into the spotlight.
The files, which were part of a massive federal investigation release, reportedly show the supermodel’s name in various emails, contact lists, and travel schedules managed by Epstein’s team. While the documents suggest they were in the same circles for years, Naomi is making it clear that being in the same room is not the same as being involved in his crimes.
On Sunday, she took to Instagram to clear the air once and for all.
“I said it in 2019, and I’ll say it again now: don’t come at me when there is no wrongdoing on my part,” she wrote. She also made sure to mention that she stands “in complete solidarity with the courageous survivors,” a stance she has held since the news first broke years ago.
Her legal team is also putting up a fight, stating that Naomi had zero clue about Epstein’s sick behavior before he was arrested in 2019. They claim that any time she was around him was for professional reasons or at big public events, where she didn’t even control who was on the guest list. Some people in the files claim they saw her at his properties, but there is no evidence she did anything wrong, and she hasn’t been charged with anything. Naomi actually addressed this back in 2019 when she posted a video saying how disgusted she was by the allegations.
“What he has done is indefensible,” she said at the time. “When I heard it, it sickened me to my stomach just like everybody else.”
Naomi has been open about how dangerous the fashion industry can be, even sharing her own brushes with creeps. She first met Epstein back in 2001 through an ex-boyfriend at a party in Saint-Tropez, and because he was always at Victoria’s Secret shows and high-fashion galas, their paths crossed often. Some records even suggest Epstein used her name to trick young girls into thinking he could get them modeling jobs, but her lawyers say she never permitted him to use her name like that. As far as Naomi is concerned, she’s a victim of his name-dropping, not a part of his inner circle.
