A fresh controversy is erupting around Netflix, which is set to release a four‑part docuseries from 50 Cent that allegedly contains private footage of Diddy. Shockingly, the mogul’s camp says the clips were never cleared for public use.

The documentary titled “Sean Combs: The Reckoning” draws on material filmed during Diddy’s final days of freedom in September 2024, just before his arrest, including hotel conversations and outings captured for what Diddy reportedly hoped would be his own future project, according to The New York Times.
On Monday, a spokesperson for Diddy issued a statement denouncing the use of the footage. The team called it “unauthorized for release” and described it as comprising “private moments, pre‑indictment material from an unfinished project, and conversations involving legal strategy.”
The statement added that neither Diddy nor his team provided the material. Now, they are demanding answers from the streamer about how the material was obtained and why it was allowed into the film.
Netflix and the documentary’s producers have yet to respond publicly to those claims. Meanwhile, 50 Cent and the series’ director, Alexandria Stapleton, defended the inclusion of the footage, saying it was part of a broader attempt to unpack decades of allegations and systemic issues in the world around Diddy.
With the docuseries arriving on December 2, it’s unclear if the program will be stalled.
