A third woman has come forward with allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, who has denied them.
On Wednesday, attorney Michael Avenatti released a sworn declaration from his client Julie Swetnick. In it, Swetnick alleges that she attended house parties in the Washington, D.C. area in the early 1980s where she says boys lined up outside rooms waiting for a turn with girls inside. She says Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh were among the boys present at these parties. Swetnick also says she was herself a victim of one of these incidents, though she did not say Kavanaugh assaulted her.
Kavanaugh denied the allegation, calling it “ridiculous.” Judge has also denied the claims.
Swetnick’s account follows allegations from Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez. Ford alleges that Kavanaugh held her down and tried to remove her clothes when both were in high school. Ramirez alleges Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a party during their time at Yale. Kavanaugh has denied both accounts. Ford and Kavanaugh are scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.
Avenatti has called for a full investigation, saying Kavanaugh should not be confirmed without one.
