Lil Wayne released from Rikers Island on Thursday, about eight months into a one year sentence on gun possession charges, DNAinfo reported.
Wayne pleaded guilty to the charges, which stemmed from a 2007 incident in which a gun was found on his tour bus. The city’s Department of Correction listed him as out of jail on its website. His manager, Cortez Bryant, tweeted that he was free at last, and Wayne posted his own message Thursday afternoon announcing his return.
