The report named the child’s mother as a woman called Nia, a former model who lives in Houston. Brown had not publicly confirmed the report when this post went up, and paternity remained unconfirmed.
Early coverage was messy, and outlets did not agree on every detail. According to published accounts, another man had been raising the baby and believed he was her father. He had often shared family photos of the little girl on social media, and he spoke out publicly after the news broke. Nobody had verified the claims about who the father is, so everything here should be read as reported, not proven.
One more note on accuracy. A photo that circulated alongside some early coverage was said to show a different child, not the baby at the center of the report. That is a good reminder to treat early images with caution while a story is still developing.
Karrueche Tran, Brown’s longtime on again, off again girlfriend, also responded publicly to the news on social media, as covered by The Source and ET at the time. Brown himself had not addressed the report in public.
