A two-part documentary series about “The Jerry Springer Show” is headed to Netflix at the top of next year.
Set to drop on January 7th, 2025, “Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera, Action” dives deep into the outrageous world of one of the most iconic talk shows of the ’90s. According to the streamer, this jaw-dropping series will feature exclusive insight and revealing interviews with show insiders, producers, and former guests, peeling back the layers of the mayhem that defined “The Jerry Springer Show.” This fresh perspective also uncovers the darker side of the entertainment phenomenon and the chaos it unleashed.
Running for 27 seasons from 1991 to 2018, “The Jerry Springer Show” became infamous for its wild and unfiltered takes on taboo subjects like incest, racism, and infidelity. The show’s unforgettable guests often erupted into fistfights and shouting matches. There was also the notorious “Jerry Beads,” earned by audience members flashing their breasts.
Critics throughout the years slammed the show. TV Guide even called it the worst of all time back in 2002. Still, that didn’t stop Springer from welcoming the antics.
With Minnow Films and director Luke Sewell at the helm and executive producers Sophie Jones, Alicia Kerr, and Sophie Leonard, this documentary will surely soar to the top of Netflix’s most-watched list.
