New TikTok Trend: Using AI To Help Plan Trips

Vacation

A new TikTok trend is going viral. Users are using AI systems like ChatGPT to help plan their trips. It’s definitely shifting travel planning to a new level.

Users create travel itineraries based on their wants and needs in a simpler and less time-consuming manner. Instead of slogging through hours of research, users get similar results with a quick conversation with AI, National Geographic reported.

AI has been a controversial topic as of late. But it has been called a game changer when it comes to some areas of life, like traveling.

Artificial Intelligence systems can help generate schedules, restaurant choices, and accommodations in just minutes, allowing travelers to get the most out of their trips.

TikTok users are raving about Roam Around, Google Bard, Trip Notes, ChatGPT, and many others that are capable of taking on the skills of a travel agent and possibly taking over the travel industry.

TikTokers are demonstrating just how easy the features are to use. For example, one user showed us how she planned a two-week Europe trip for under $1,000 using ChatGPT.

She told AI when she wanted to go, where she wanted to go, and how long she wanted to stay.

AI helped her create an itinerary by asking 20 in-depth questions; once she answered the questions,  she said it “cranked out gold.” The system gave her accommodation options (hotels, hostels, and Airbnb) and pricing, transportation options, and gave sightseeing options and pricing.

Another user used another AI-powered website, Roam Around. Her destination of choice was Norway. Just by adding her location, Roam Around gave a detailed schedule for a five-day trip. The user was also able to filter the options to a family-friendly itinerary or a 2-day itinerary.

While AI systems aren’t seamless, users still applaud their capabilities of helping create a good starting point when planning trips.
