Wednesday morning, sources revealed to ESPN that the New York Knicks will be parting ways with the team’s president Phil Jackson.

Back in 2014, Jackson was introduced as the team president after signing a five-year, $60 million contract. Since then, Knicks fans have blamed him for the team’s lack of success. However, things took a turn for the worst when Jackson ignited a feud with the team’s star forward, Carmelo Anthony. Since then, Knicks fans have been fed up with Jackson, but conversations about his future with the team didn’t come to fruition until Jackson revealed he’d been entertaining talks of a Kristaps Porzingis trade.

According to ESPN, owner James Dolan decided to part ways with Jackson Tuesday night. For most of the season, people close to the owner have been encouraging him to fire Jackson during the season as they grew frustrated with his preferred triangle offense, but Dolan hadn’t reached his breaking point until Jackson’s mishandling of the team’s two star players. Now, as the team parts ways with Jackson, which will be revealed as a mutual agreement, the organization can now work on rebuilding.
