Nick Gordon is breaking his silence about the night Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unresponsive. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Gordon shared his version of what happened on January 31, 2015, and said he blames himself for not reaching her sooner.
Brown died in July 2015 at age 22, roughly six months after she was found face down in a bathtub at her home. Members of her family, including her court appointed conservator, have publicly blamed Gordon. He has denied wrongdoing. “I blame myself for not getting to Krissy quick enough that day,” he told the outlet, adding that he feels he failed her but cannot take the blame for another person’s addiction.
According to Gordon, he arrived at the home around 4 a.m. and Brown seemed to be under the influence. He said she was upset because she believed he had been with other women, and the two argued before making up. Later, he said, he went downstairs to play a video game. A friend, Max, was the one who found Brown while showing a cable technician where the cable box was located. Gordon said he knew something was wrong the moment he heard his friend’s voice, and that he began CPR and thought she might come around after she spit up water.
Gordon also told the Daily Mail that Brown struggled with substance use long before they met. He said her pain after the loss of her mother, Whitney Houston, played a role. Those are Gordon’s claims, and Brown’s relatives have strongly disagreed with how he has described their relationship and her struggles.
Gordon is also set to appear on Dr. Phil on Thursday and Friday for a two part episode about his life since Brown’s death.
