Nicki Minaj broke her silence Wednesday with a 13 point post on X defending Trump, one day after Democrats won control of both the House and the Senate in the midterm elections. The post came with a selfie video and opened by reminding her critics that Trump is still in the White House.

The message arrived after reports that she had gone quiet following Election Night, which turned into a rough one for Republicans. CNN’s analysis put the Democrats’ national popular vote margin at roughly 13 points, which would be the largest for any party in a midterm since 1976.
Michigan hit closest to home for Nicki Minaj. On Oct. 25, she joined Trump onstage at a rally in Port Huron to push for Senate candidate Mike Rogers and governor candidate John James. She told Trump she would support him “forever and ever” and would back him again if he ever ran for another term. Both of her Michigan candidates lost. Democrat Abdul El-Sayed beat Rogers for the open Senate seat, becoming the first Muslim ever elected to the Senate, and Jocelyn Benson beat James for governor.
Her post leaned into faith first. “Jesus is STILL LORD,” she wrote, later adding, “Christians are STILL being killed.” She has pushed that issue for a while now, including at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in December 2025, where she spoke out about the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
She also wrote “Great insight by the VICE PRESIDENT,” a nod to JD Vance, though she did not say which of his comments she meant.
Nicki Minaj did find two wins to celebrate. She congratulated Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna and Byron Donalds by name. Donalds won the Florida governor’s race and will become the state’s first Black governor. He is one of four Black governors elected Tuesday, alongside Democrats Keisha Lance Bottoms in Georgia, David Crowley in Wisconsin and Aaron Ford in Nevada. Bottoms will be the first Black woman ever elected governor in the country. Luna held on to her seat in Florida’s 13th Congressional District by less than a percentage point over Democrat Leela Gray.

Point seven is where the shade came in. “Blowing a billion on a losing campaign full of celebrities is STILL hurting them,” she wrote. She did not name anyone, but the line appears aimed at Kamala Harris and her 2024 presidential run, which leaned heavily on celebrity support.
Then came the line that had her timeline talking. “I don’t vote, I VETO,” she wrote. Nicki Minaj was born in Trinidad and Tobago and moved to the United States as a child. She said during a 2024 livestream that she is not a U.S. citizen, and she repeated as recently as January that she cannot vote in American elections. That did not keep her away from the polls on Election Day. Around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, she was photographed being escorted by police outside the polling site at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, New Hampshire.
The rest of the list went straight to her fans and her haters. “The QUEEN is STILL your OBSESSION,” she wrote, followed by “The BARBZ are STILL PRETTY!!!” She added “Stay tuned & STAY MAD” and “Maybe now our people will WAKE UP,” without explaining who she meant by “our people.” She closed with “Love you” and an American flag.
She was not done. Nicki Minaj followed up with a second post she labeled “Last thing,” numbering it 14 and 15 to pick up where her list left off. In point 14, she wrote that Elon Musk is “STILL a trillionaire” and that her critics are “STILL posting on his app,” adding that she was sure “the shareholders appreciate the dialogue.” Point 15 praised Grok, the AI chatbot from Musk’s company xAI that is built into X, which she said “significantly changed my life for the better.” She attached a photo of herself in a beige suit and heels on a tarmac in front of a jet with “America” painted on its side.

The post caps off a year in which Nicki Minaj went all in on Trump. At AmericaFest, she praised both Trump and Vance as relatable leaders. In January, she appeared at the Treasury Department’s Trump Accounts Summit, called herself his “No. 1 fan” and pledged between $150,000 and $300,000 toward her fans’ Trump Accounts. Ahead of the midterms, she sat down with Lara Trump on Fox News and urged young people to “vote red.” In 2018, she criticized Trump’s policy of separating families at the border. At AmericaFest, she addressed that shift directly, telling the crowd it is OK to change your mind.
