A North Carolina minister was so furious with a McDonald’s employee for disrespecting his wife that he tried to deep-fry the man.
The ordeal took place on Thursday at a restaurant in High Point. At this location, 44-year-old manager-in-training Latoya Gladney was working but had an altercation with her coworkers. Gladney felt disrespected, though it’s unclear what occurred. She then called her husband, Dwayne Waden, who drove to the location to defend Gladney. When the Elevated Life International Ministries preacher arrived, he wasted no time coming behind the counter. That is when an altercation between Waden and a male employee ensued, leading to the holy man hitting the Mickey D’s staffer in the face. It took multiple staff members to intervene and separate them. At one point, Waden placed his hands around the neck of the worker and forced his head toward the deep fryer.
Police responded to the scene and viewed the assault on the surveillance footage. Waden was then arrested and subsequently charged for trying to cook the man. A later medical evaluation noted that the employee sustained significant injuries, including a pronounced contusion on his forehead and right eye, along with neck abrasions.
Waden is being held on a $1,000 bond. It’s unclear if he will be forced to step down from Elevated Life International Ministries. However, they may make a decision after his January 22nd court date. In addition to being a man of the cloth, Waden is also believed to be a truck driver.
