This week, we reported that over 300 officers from New York had tested positive for the Coronavirus. Since then, it has increased to 500.
After reports were released of all of the officers had tested positive for COVID-19, one officer has succumbed from the virus, according to the New York Post.
A 48-year-old detective, who worked in the 32nd Precinct in Harlem, passed away early Saturday morning at North Central Bronx Hospital.
Although other members of the department has passed from the New York Police Department, the detective is the first officer to die from the virus. An administrative aide in the Bronx died Thursday and a 62-year-old cleaner at 1 Police Plaza, according to the publication.
