O.J. Simpson is now a ‘completely free’ man!

The former NFL player was granted early release from parole for good behavior, according to the Nevada Department of Public Safety.

“Mr. Simpson is a completely free man now,” his Nevada lawyer, Malcolm LaVergne, told the Associated Press on Tuesday.

The 74-year-old had been on parole after spending nine years in prison following his conviction in his 2008 armed robbery case. His parole was initially scheduled to end on February 9.

The former Buffalo Bills star was convicted for leading five men, including two with guns, into a Vegas hotel-casino to confront two sports collectible dealers and steal memorabilia. Simpson insisted the items belonged to him.

He was initially sentenced to 33 years behind bars for the crime.

Much of Simpson’s life has been spent in the limelight following his professional football career. His murder trial in the death of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman was dubbed “the trial of the century” and sparked years of debate over race and the justice system. Simpson was acquitted in 1995 of the double slaying.
