An OnlyFans model, Michaela Brashaye Rylaarsdam, has been charged after a man she allegedly performed a BDSM stunt with died.
The incident occurred on April 17th, 2023, when 55-year-old Michael Dale, who reportedly paid Rylaarsdam $11,000, was found brain dead after participating in a dangerous sex act.
According to reports from The San Diego Union-Tribune, Rylaarsdam, a 31-year-old mother of three, recorded content at Dale’s home in Escondido, California, where he asked her to bind him with plastic and duct tape. Tragically, this act led to his asphyxiation. Text messages shared in the affidavit reportedly show that Dale hired Rylaarsdam to wrap him in plastic and glue boots to his feet. Disturbing video footage showed Dale bound, with duct tape over his mouth and plastic wrapped around his head, contributing to his suffocation.
Rylaarsdam, who had no prior experience with BDSM, allegedly realized something was wrong during the video and called 911. She performed CPR on Dale before paramedics arrived, but he was declared brain dead and taken off life support days later.
Rylaarsdam was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in February. Her attorney stated that his client cooperated with authorities and had no intent to harm Dale, claiming that consent is a mitigating factor in the case. Rylaarsdam has pleaded not guilty and remains in jail without bond. Members of the BDSM community have cautioned that some requests can be too dangerous to fulfill.
