They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and Auntie O may have proven that to be true, as she reveals that her and Stedman’s perfect date night involves her throwing down in the kitchen.
Winfrey says she makes an effort to prepare Stedman’s favorite meal: black-eyed peas and cornbread. But not just any chef can make the dish; Stedman says he especially likes Winfrey’s touch. After over 30 years of being together, Stedman never gets tired of her cooking and is overjoyed with any and every meal Winfrey prepares.
In an Instagram post the media mogul said, “The wonderful thing about Stedman is, all the years I’ve been cooking for him, no matter what it is, even if it’s a piece of toast — Like the other day I made an English muffin and he’s like, ‘Where did you get this English muffin?!’ I’m like, ‘It’s an English muffin,’” she said on a Twitter video of their perfect date night. “So he is delighted with anything I make. So my favorite date night is to make him black-eyed peas and cornbread as a surprise for dinner, and then honey, hush! That’s all you need. Little black-eyed peas, cornbread. That’s it. Perfect date night. Me cooking, and then…it’s on.”
