Big Boi from Outkast is officially divorced from his wife, Sherlita Patton, after 20 years of marriage.
According to court records, the divorce was finalized last month, which indicates that it was a rather speedy process after Big Boi had filed in April.
His filing stated there was “no reasonable hope of reconciliation” between him and Sherlita, as they were already separated and living apart.
In order to divide their assets and obligations, the ex-couple reached a postnuptial agreement in 2016, and more recently, they agreed to a confidential settlement to wrap up any loose ends. The ex-couple also decided to keep their financial information private.
In addition, both parties have agreed not to make threats of “injury, maltreatment, molesting, harassing, harming, or abusing” in any shape or form during the divorce proceedings.
Initially, Sherlita filed for divorce from the rapper in 2013 and requested full custody and alimony payments. Big Boi said she wouldn’t get anything without a fight, but they eventually made up.
