Papoose got Claressa Shields’ name tattooed on him and posted the video to Instagram, his first move since Remy Ma dropped “Wanna Go.”
Video:
The ink says Claressa. He set it to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” and captioned it with a salute to the artist, tagging Kwon.doe for bringing the art to life, tagging Claressa, and adding hashtags for tattoo and ink life.
The timing is the story. Papoose has answered this entire run with silence and paperwork. When Remy released “W.Y.F.L.” in April, he did not respond on wax. His attorney Shelley Albert sent a cease and desist on April 18 demanding she pull the record. Remy never took it down, kept performing it, and then dropped “Wanna Go,” a song built around resale, clearance racks, and hand me downs.
So he finally responded. Not with bars. With ink.
Claressa already has his name tattooed near her right breast, which she showed off at a weigh in last July and confirmed on Instagram Live in October, joking she should have gotten it twice. Now it goes both ways.
There is also a fight tonight. Claressa faces Kaye Scott at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, dropping back down to middleweight to go after the WBA and WBC belts. Whether the ink was timed to the fight, the song, or both, it landed on the same day as all of it.
