Ethan Crumbley’s parents may be charged in the Oxford High School school shooting.
This week, 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley was arrested and accused of shooting his classmates at Oxford High School in Oxford, Michigan. The gun he used was reportedly bought by his father this past Black Friday. Now, both of his parents – Jennifer and James Crumbley – may face charges along with their son.
“We are considering charges against both parents, and we will be making a decision swiftly,” said Oakland County Prosecutor to reporters on Wednesday during a press briefing. “If the incident yesterday, with four children being murdered and multiple kids being injured is not enough to revisit our gun laws – I don’t know what is,” she said. “I’m a parent, there are parents here. There are parents listening. We need to make sure … that when we send our kids to school, they’re safe.”
She went on to say: “Responsible gun ownership is imperative. It’s critical.” Crumbley is accused of using a 9mm Sig Sauer handgun to kill Tate Myre, 16; Hana St. Juliana, 14; Madisyn Baldwin, 17 and Justin Shilling, 17.
Crumbley will be charged as an adult with one count of terrorism causing death, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder, and 12 counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, The Independent reports.
