A Pennsylvania man is facing a simple assault charge after police say he struck a man with cerebral palsy outside a 7-Eleven in West Chester.
According to the Chester County District Attorney, the May 10 incident was caught on security camera. The video reportedly shows 29 year old Barry approaching the man as he got out of his car, then following him into the store and mocking him. When the man came back outside, Barry reportedly punched him in the jaw.
Police say a woman from inside the store confronted Barry afterward and he left the scene. He was later arrested and charged with simple assault.
“This defendant is a bully,” the District Attorney said, adding that the victim deserved credit for staying calm and notifying police.
Barry is due back in court on May 30. A charge is not a conviction, and Baller Alert will share any response from him or his attorney.
