Pepsi Said Forget The Soda Aisle, New Body Care Drop Brings Wild Cherry Straight To Your Shower

Pepsi is stepping into the self care lane with a new Pepsi skincare line that has fans arguing online this week. The soda giant teamed up with cosmetics brand Glamlite for its first ever body care collaboration, and the result is a two piece collection that brings the flavor of a cold can straight to the shower.

Glamlite is known for playful collaborations, and this marks the brand’s first venture into body care. Founder Giselle Hernandez broke the news on Instagram, calling the partnership something she had been dreaming about for years. According to Glamlite’s own announcement, Hernandez said she tested more than 300 samples before landing on the final formulas, a detail that signals this was not a rushed cash grab dressed up as a novelty drop.

The collection gets an early access launch on TikTok Shop on July 31 at 11 a.m. PST, with two products priced at $12 each. The lineup includes the Pepsi Vanilla Slushie Body Scrub and the Pepsi Wild Cherry Body Wash, each one built around a real Pepsi flavor rather than just slapping a logo on generic packaging.

The Vanilla Slushie Body Scrub is a foaming sugar scrub inspired by Pepsi Vanilla, formulated with mineral exfoliation and glycerin. The Wild Cherry Body Wash takes its cues from Pepsi Wild Cherry and includes niacinamide, shea butter for moisture, and a fruit AHA complex. On paper, both products read less like a joke and more like an actual attempt at skincare that happens to smell like a fountain drink.

A Pepsi skincare line asks a real question: Do people want their skincare routine to double as a nostalgia trip, or is there a line between flavor branding and personal hygiene that soda companies should not cross.

The timing tracks with a bigger shift happening across beauty right now. Food inspired beauty products have been having a real moment, and Glamlite is simply the latest brand chasing that wave straight into the soda aisle. Pepsi is not the only food or drink brand cashing in on the crossover either.

Sephora made a similar bet earlier this year with its own spicy twist. According to IMG Licensing, which brokered the deal, Sephora Collection partnered with Tabasco on a limited edition lip gloss line built around the brand’s Outrageous Plump Volume Effect formula, infused with chili pepper extract and hyaluronic acid for a plumping effect. The gloss launched in four shades named after Tabasco’s heat levels, from Jalapeño up to Extreme Heat, and each one came packaged in a silicone sleeve shaped like a mini hot sauce bottle. It is proof that pairing a beauty product with a pantry staple can work when the formula actually holds up, not just when the branding is cute.

Pepsi itself has leaned into these unexpected mashups before this Pepsi skincare line ever existed. Per PepsiCo’s own newsroom, the brand rolled out its DRIPS lineup in 2024, a crafted beverage experience that mixed its core sodas with unconventional add ins like popping boba, fruit syrups, and cold foam, including a pickle inspired Mountain Dew drink and a Tropicana Cotton Candy Lemonade. That collection proved Pepsi already had an appetite for pushing flavor experimentation past the beverage aisle, so a body wash and scrub line is less of a stretch than it might first appear.

Whether the Pepsi skincare line becomes a viral hit or a punchline probably depends on how it actually performs once people get their hands on it come July 31. A foaming sugar scrub and a niacinamide body wash are legitimate skincare categories regardless of what flavor inspired them, and if the ingredients deliver, the soda branding might end up being the least interesting part of the story. For now, the internet is doing what it does best, debating whether smelling like Wild Cherry Pepsi in the shower is a self care win or a step too far.

One thing is clear. Between Glamlite, Sephora, and Pepsi’s own history of flavor experiments, food and drink brands are no longer staying in their lane, and beauty aisles are starting to taste like the snack aisle right next to them.
