Pete Davidson and director Judd Apatow have decided to join forces to create a new comedic film.
The Hollywood Reporter got the scoop on Davidson’s latest creative project. Universal Pictures picked up the project, called “Big Time Adolescence,” which tells the story of Pete’s journey from State Island to Hollywood. Of course in regular Davidson-fashion, the plot faces some serious issues but are met with comedic relief. (Think Amy Schumer’s “Trainwreck”) The film will dive in to take a look at his youth after losing his firefighter father to the September 11 attacks, and follow his path to greatness in landing his cast role on “Saturday Night Live” at 20-years-old.
David Sirus also played a part in co-writing the story for Apatow’s self-titled production company.
Production is scheduled to begin this summer in New York City, and the film will be released June 19, 2020.
