A Philadelphia man is taking a strip club to court after an alleged attack on a night out. Errick filed a lawsuit in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court against Atlantis Gentlemen’s Club, located in the University City section of the city.
According to the lawsuit, Errick and a friend were at the club’s bar in July when a dancer repeatedly offered them private dances. The complaint says they declined, and that after Errick would not tip her, she became violent, broke a glass and stabbed him in the neck. The suit says the dancer was intoxicated. Errick says he was taken to the hospital with a severe neck wound that needed many stitches, and that he filed a police report.
The lawsuit also claims club management knew the dancer had a history of erratic behavior and let her keep working there. Those claims are allegations and have not been tested in court. The dancer is not named in the suit as a defendant and has not been charged with a crime, so we are not identifying her. A response from the club was not available at the time of this post.
The case is just getting started, so we will see how the club answers the claims. What do you think a venue’s responsibility should be when a patron says he was hurt on the premises?
