Popular Fruit Popsicle Brand Sold In 4 States Recalled — Hidden Ingredients Could Trigger Life-Threatening Reactions

D’Dioses Fruit Pops, a beloved fruit popsicle brand sold across the Northeast, is at the center of a major food safety recall, and consumers are urged to check their freezers immediately.

What Triggered the D’Dioses Recall?

De Dios’s Ice Pops II LLC announced the voluntary recall of its D’Dioses Fruit Pops on May 27, 2026, after an FDA inspection identified the need for improvements to prevent allergen cross-contact. The products may contain undeclared milk, pecans, pistachios, yellow #5, and red #40, none of which were listed on the packaging.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to these ingredients run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products,” the company stated in its announcement.

Which Products Are Affected?

A total of 16 flavors are included in the recall: coco, fresa con leche, arroz con leche, mamey, guayaba, vainilla, rompope, nuez, pistachio, cookies and cream, pina colada, limon, grocella, mango, tamarindo, and nanche. The popsicles are sold in 3.7-oz. packages under the D’Dioses Fruit Pops label and were distributed to grocery stores in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. Only units produced before April 27, 2026, are subject to the recall. Products made after that date were manufactured under updated safety procedures.

Why Undeclared Allergens Are So Dangerous

Undeclared allergens are among the most serious food safety violations the FDA tracks. Milk and tree nuts, including pecans and pistachios, are among the nine leading causes of food allergies in the United States, according to the USDA. Food allergies are the leading trigger of anaphylaxis, a sudden, potentially fatal immune response. Symptoms can include hives, tongue swelling, difficulty breathing, and vomiting, and can escalate rapidly without treatment.

A Pattern Of Allergen-Related Recalls

This recall is far from an isolated event. In recent months, the FDA has flagged a wave of allergen and contamination-related recalls across the food industry, from chocolate bars and potato chips to croutons and ranch seasoning. The pattern reflects ongoing challenges manufacturers face in maintaining allergen separation across shared production lines. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the D’Dioses recall.

What Consumers Should Do

Anyone who purchased D’Dioses Fruit Pops produced before April 27, 2026, should not consume them. Return the product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
