Just months after ‘Power’ creator, Courtney Kemp, inked a massive, multi-year deal with Starz’s parent company, Lionsgate, the talented showrunner is already working on a new project.

According to Deadline, as part of the lucrative, three-year deal – which gives Kemp the opportunity to expand her ‘Power’ franchise at Starz, all while, expanding her brand to other platforms – Kemp has joined forces with Lionsgate and HBO to develop a new cop drama, titled, “Dirty Thirty.”

Set in New York City, the one-hour series will be based, in part, on the story of the rogue cops that operated out of NYPD’s 30th Precinct in the early 90s. While the series will start off as “a story of a cop family,” the story will end as a “crime wave infecting the highest levels of municipal government, corrupting the justice system and defining a city.”

The series will also be a co-production between HBO and Lionsgate and will be executive produced by Kemp and her End of Episode company team, including ‘Power’ regular Jerry Ferrara, who plays Proctor. Ferrara may also make an appearance on the show.

In the meantime, the new season of “Power,” which many are calling the “pivotal sixth season,” is set to premiere on Starz this summer.
