Remember Marie Holmes, the $188 million Powerball winner who continues to spend her winnings on bailing her boyfriend out of jail? Well, guess how she started the New Year?
On Tuesday, 31-year old Lamarr “Hot Sauce” McDow, Holmes’ boyfriend, was arrested for violating a pre-trial release agreement for prior heroin-related charges. McDow was released from jail just before 12:45 a.m. when Marie Holmes posted his $12 million bond.
Marie Holmes won the $188 million Powerball jackpot in February. Just after her win, Holmes paid the $3 million bond for her boyfriend, who had been in jail on heroin trafficking charges from 2014.
In July, McDow was re-arrested during a raid, for violating his pre-trial release. Cops also found weapons and drugs in their home. For violating the terms of his pre-trial release, McDow’s bond is automatically doubled. Holmes posted his $6 million bond again in early August.
Which leads us to McDow’s most recent arrest. A warrant was issued on December 26 for McDow’s arrest on misdemeanor charge of conspiring to arrange a street race. Again, because he continues to violate the terms of his pretrial release, his bond amount is automatically doubled.
The next time he violates the terms his pre-trial release, McDow’s bond will be $24 million, and so on. How much is this woman going to put up with before she either smartens up or runs out of money?
