13 Year Old Mo’Ne Davis Pitches Shutout Taking Her Team To The World Series

One of the few females in little league baseball is 13 year old Mo’ne Davis but that’s not what makes her special. It’s the fact that she is an EXCELLENT baseball player, and she proved that Friday when she pitched a shutout game, sending her team, the Taney Dragons of Philadelphia, to the World Series. Mo’ne truly gives a new meaning to “throwing like a girl.”

Mo’Ne pitched 70mph fastballs and curveballs allowing only three hits in six innings. Only 16 girls have played in the Little League World Series in the past 67 years and Mo’Ne becomes the first to pitch a shut out in Little League World Series history. When you ask Mo’Ne, who’s walk up song is Beyonce’s “Who Runs The World (Girls)”, who she compares herself to she says “I throw my curveball like Clayton Kershaw’s and my fastball like Mo’Ne Davis.”

Mo’Ne loves sports and hopes to play in the WNBA some day. How awesome and inspirational is she?
