BET has just announced the nominees for the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, with Megan Thee Stallion leading the pack, securing an impressive 12 nominations. She’s followed closely by Kendrick Lamar with 11 nominations and Drake with eight. The 19th annual awards show, dedicated to celebrating the best in hip hop, will air on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 8 PM ET/PT on BET.
Fat Joe is set to return as host for the third consecutive year, bringing his dynamic energy back to the stage. The Grammy-nominated artist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist will also serve as co-executive producer for the event, which will take place in a new, iconic location—Las Vegas, Nevada.
Megan Thee Stallion’s nominations include major categories like Song of the Year, Lyricist of the Year, Hip Hop Artist of the Year, and three nominations in Best Collaboration. Kendrick Lamar also shines with nominations in Best Hip Hop Video, Lyricist of the Year, and Best Collaboration, among others. Drake, Cardi B, GloRilla, and Nicki Minaj round out the top contenders.
Fat Joe expressed his excitement about returning as host, saying, “It’s been a dream to host the ‘BET Hip Hop Awards,’ and I’m looking forward to taking things to the next level in Las Vegas. We’re going to make this the biggest show yet.”
BET is also bringing fans closer to the action with opportunities to vote in key categories, including DJ of the Year, Producer of the Year, and Best Hip Hop Platform. Voting opens on September 20 at Noon ET on BET’s website.
The awards show promises to be a star-studded celebration, featuring performances and appearances by some of hip hop’s biggest names. Be sure to tune in on October 15 to see who takes home the top honors.
