It’s no secret that 50 Cent is a good businessman and is savvy about where to invest his money. So in true 50 fashion, the rapper took a chance on bitcoin years ago and is now reaping the benefits in a major way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Back in 2014, 50 allowed fans to purchase his album, “Animal Ambition,” using bitcoin. At the time, the cryptocurrency was valued at about $662/bitcoin.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to TMZ, fans were able to get a “copy of the album for just a fraction of a whole bitcoin.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sources report that the album pulled in about 700 bitcoin in sales, which equals over $400,000.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
After sitting in 50’s account for years and with the recent spike in bitcoin, 50 is now reportedly sitting on anywhere between $7 million and $8.5 million.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Within the last few weeks, the market has begun to decline, so hopefully, 50 cashes out soon.
