The ladies of South Carolina were not ready for the three-headed monster that the Husky girls came out with. Star guard Paige Bueckers, a player they tried to compare with Caitlin Clark all season, showed what she was capable of this season.
Finishing the season averaging 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists, she is the epitome of a balanced player. The projected number one pick in the WNBA Draft has solidified her legacy at UConn alongside greats like Maya Moore and Diana Taurasi.
The Final Four Most Outstanding Player will return next year. Guard Azzi Fudd will also be back next season, hoping to repeat. The Virginia native was one of the most important players on this team this season for the Huskies. A player once categorized as only a shooter showed everyone she could be much more than that.
Paige was sensational in this tournament, and ESPN analyst Andraya Carter said Bueckers has had one of the best college careers after her national championship run.
