Alex Jones Found Guilty in Defaming Sandy Hook Victims by Calling Shooting a “Hoax,” To Pay Damages

Infowars host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has been found guilty in the latest lawsuit brought against him by families of the Sandy Hook school shooting victims.

Monday, a Connecticut judge issued a default ruling in the fourth defamation case brought against Jones, who has made frequent claims that the 2012 school massacre was a hoax and that the victims’ families were “crisis actors.” Judge Barbara Bellis defaulted the case in favor of the parents after Jones and his companies failed “to produce critical material information that the plaintiffs needed to prove their claims.”

Now, Jones will have to pay up. Another hearing is set to be held to decide how much he should pay in damages.

The Newtown, Connecticut, school shooting left 26 children and six staff members dead. Several victims’ family members claim they have been subjected to harassment and death threats from Jones’ followers following his claims. Monday’s ruling comes over a month after a Texas judge issued a default judgment against Jones for failing to produce documents in relation to remarks he made about the shooting.
