The reality star and entrepreneur shared her side of the story in a recent Instagram Live, revealing that someone tipped off the state about her business, triggering an investigation that led to its closure.
“Somebody was hating on me, unfortunately, and they called the state on me,” Alexis explained. “Had I known that I needed the proper license to run a recovery house, I would have never got shut down.”
Skyy admitted she dove in without knowing the requirements, a move she now regrets. The former “Love and Hip-Hop” star is now using the experience as a teaching moment, not just for herself but for her followers who might be watching her journey and thinking about starting businesses of their own.
“Just because something looks like it’s making money doesn’t mean that’s for you,” she advised, calling out how misleading Instagram hustle culture can be.
She emphasized that true success comes from building something that makes sense for your life and your passion, not just following trends or chasing dollar signs.
“You gotta go into a lane that really makes sense for yourself…and you’re gonna wake up every day and you’re gonna enjoy doing it.”
Though the recovery house is no longer in operation, Alexis hasn’t ruled out returning to that line of work in the future.
