Amazon Raises Award To $50K To Get Information On Nooses Found In Warehouse

Amazon Shuts Down Construction Site In Connecticut After Seven Nooses Were Found

Amazon has temporarily shut down the construction of a new fulfillment center in Windsor, Connecticut, after seven apparent nooses were found at the site.

According to CNN, cops in Connecticut say the nooses were found around the construction site in late April. Authorities are now working with the FBI’s Civil Rights division and are investigating the incidents as potential hate crimes.

Amazon will temporarily shut down the site “at least until Monday” as more safety precautions are put in place, Brad Griggs, an Amazon representative, said during a press conference at the site on Thursday.

The company, along with their development partners, are offering a $100,000 reward to anyone who can assist in identifying any suspects involved in this case.

“Hate, racism, and discrimination have no place in our society, and certainly are not tolerated in any Amazon workplace, whether under construction like the building here behind us, or in our fully operational facilities,” Griggs said.
