Run the World star Andrea Bordeaux wants to set the record straight when it comes to her exit from the show.
Bordeaux took to her Instagram over the weekend to let her followers know that she was fired from the show over a Lionsgate vaccine mandate.
“Despite what the article says,” she captioned a photo of a Deadline article referencing her exit from the show, “I did not opt to leave the series and Lionsgate made no efforts to find a workable solution. I was fired.”
“My heart is with all of the people around the world who feel that they are losing so much due to their choice to stand in their convictions and to honor their deepest core beliefs,” she continued. “What I know for certain is that when you are leading with your heart and honoring the path that Spirit has laid out for you, nothing can be taken away that will not be returned 1000 fold.”
I surrender to that with profound Peace and Joy and I encourage you to do the same,” Bordeaux added.
Deadline had previously reported that the actress and Lionsgate had attempted to work on a solution where she could continue filming, but one could not be reached. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Lionsgate requires all cast and crew working in “Zone A” to be vaccinated.
Bordeaux said playing Ella was a “dream come true,” and she was heartbroken over the firing. She expressed her love for the cast and crew and thanked everyone for the love and support she’s received.
The Grio reports that Bordeaux’s role will not be recast. The show also stars Amber Stevens, Bresha Webb, and Corbin Reid.
