Angela Yee doesn’t exactly keep in touch with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy following her “Breakfast Club” exit.

In a candid sit-down with Carlos King, Yee opened up about where she stands with her former co-hosts today, making it clear that their connection has cooled.

“It’s more like a ‘hi, bye’ thing if I see them,” she said, pointing out that even Charlamagne and Envy aren’t that close anymore. “They both have their own lives and their own families and their own things that they do and, like, many kids. I don’t even know how many kids everybody has at this point.”

Asked if she misses them, Yee laughed, “They’re still right down the hall,” but added, “I wouldn’t say that I miss them. I really am happy in the space that I’m in.”

Yee, who left The Breakfast Club in December 2022, revealed she’d been eyeing the exit long before the pandemic. “I already had been talking to iHeart about it,” she said. “I also knew when I came in that I would not want to do this forever.”

The brutal early mornings were a factor. “I don’t care who you’re working with… it’ll make you not be friends,” she admitted.

When the time came to make her move, Yee was offered her own midday show, “Way Up with Angela Yee,” but had to keep the switch under wraps until iHeart was ready to go public.

“Everybody was happy,” she said of the reveal. “We coordinated the rollout together.”

Yee was succeeded by Jess Hilarious, with Loren LoRosa stepping in during her maternity leave.
