Anita Baker is sick and tired of Babyface fans coming for her after his set was canceled last month during her tour.
On May 10th, Babyface apologized on Instagram to his fans for being asked not to perform at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. He revealed that he and his band were asked not to play their set in order to give Baker “space and time to perform her show in its entirety.” Since then, fans and several entertainment colleagues have expressed their disdain for this decision. Many even accused Baker of having a poor attitude and being difficult to work with. Now, Baker has had enough of the questions surrounding her attitude and tour etiquette.
“This Truth? Will never Reach all of the Places & People that The Slander & Intentional Fake News has been, *deliberatly Sent 2* I dont really, do Press. It’s Exhausting. I simply prefer to Sing… I’m Praying the Truth reaches My Global Fan Base & My Reputation is Restored,” she tweeted on Sunday.

On Monday, Baker continued to defend herself against Babyface supporters. When one user tried to check Baker for calling the producer a “support act,” Baker fired back, telling them that he was indeed a special guest on her tour.
“Yes, Babyface is Special Guest❤️/Support Act on My Tour. This False Narrative, of A Co-headliner is creating Unrealistic Expectations & Aggression, from his fans towards me. He should tell you, guys, the Truth,” she wrote.
Ms. Baker also urged Babyface to call off his fans, whom she labeled “Kennies Crazies.”
Dearest one. You are Not, privy to *The Contracts*. Yes, Babyface is Special Guest❤️/Support Act, on My Tour. It was later reported that Babyface’s sudden dismissal from the tour stop was mainly due to technical difficulties that would have made his performance overlap with the timeslot that Baker was supposed to hit the stage. However, the damage had already been done. Fellow singer Stephanie Mills expressed her disappointment in not having the Grammy-award-winning vocalist and songwriter perform.
“One would think as older artists who are considered “iconic” and or “legendary,” we would treat each other with respect and dignity,” Mills wrote on Twitter at the time in a now-deleted post.
Babyface has not yet responded to the latest drama surrounding his performance cancelation, though he has kept his responses graceful in the past, opting not to bash Baker.
