Former NFL player Antonio Brown won’t be facing any charges following an alleged domestic dispute at a Tampa-area home in late November.

The State Attorney’s Office in Tampa said Wednesday that it had decided to drop the misdemeanor battery charges against the wide receiver-turned-rapper following a review of all available evidence. The arrest warrant for Brown is no longer active.

On November 28, police issued a warrant for the 34-year-old following a verbal altercation at a home in south Tampa. A police report stated Brown threw a shoe at a woman and attempted to evict her from the residence, locking her out of the home. Police later made several failed attempts to arrest Brown at the Tampa residence where the incident occurred.

Prior to attempting to arrest the former Buc, the department launched an investigation that included interviews with the victim, contacting Child Protective Investigations (CPI) for the safety and well-being of the children involved in addition to offering the victim services from a domestic abuse victim shelter. However, during a December 16 interview, the victim recanted her previous allegations “regarding Mr. Brown’s intent to strike her or cause her bodily harm.”

“The SAO analyzed this new information along with the body worn camera video recorded at the scene, the Child Protective Services investigation, and the denial of a law enforcement’s Temporary Risk Protection Order and determined we could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt a battery took place,” the State Attorney’s Office said in its statement Wednesday.
