Monday night in Manchester, England, an explosion rattled an #ArianaGrande concert, just after the pop star finished her performance. Since then, officials have confirmed at least 22 fatalities with about 59 people injured, labeling the attack as a “terrorist incident.”
Grande reps confirmed the singer was “OK” after the explosion, adding that they were “further investigating what happened.”
As Hollywood’s biggest stars learned of the tragedy, they expressed their thoughts and condolences on social media. Even Grande took to social media following the tragedy, tweeted “broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry. I don’t have words,” just before reports surfaced that she had suspended the remainder of her world tour.
Grande was scheduled to perform on Thursday in London, however, in the wake of the attack, the singer has decided to halt the entire European tour, as she’s been devastated. The first victim named in the attack has been identified as 16-year-old Georgina Callander, who tweeted Grande prior to the concert, saying “So excited to see you tomorrow.” She died in the hospital after the attack.
Sources tell TMZ that Grande will talk about returning to tour when she is emotionally ready.
In the meantime, officials have confirmed a 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the crime, as the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack.
