Atlanta news anchor Jovita Moore opened up to viewers on Thursday, sharing an update that she has an aggressive form of brain cancer months after she tearfully revealed she had tumors in her brain.
The beloved veteran anchor who has been a staple at WSB-TV since 1998 asked the station to update viewers with the news that she was recently diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive, malignant form of cancer that can affect the brain or spine.
“Our girl is strong. Our girl is a fighter and she’s doing great every day,” said her friend and coworker Condace Pressley in an emotional moment while announcing Moore’s diagnosis.
Moore shared a message to the world after her recent diagnosis. ” I just want to say a quick thank you. Thank you for your cards, thank you for all of the gifts, and most importantly, thank you for your prayers and your positive energy. I feel all of it. I’m now. I’m up and about and doing everything my doctors tell me to do. So for now, I need to be here to focus on my health. I’m surrounded by family, a very small circle of friends, but also your extended love and support.”
